Yulin Yang

I recently borrowed Yulin Yang's Fundamental Principles of Go.

What is it for me?

It goes into details of how to look at different issues that arise in early stages of the game.

In other words, the book is just for me. It breaks down opening into simple principles that helps me determine what move is right, what move isn't best.

I compared the ideas to Otake, and I have to say that...Yulin Yang is significantly better, because Mr. Yang gets to the meat. MEAT of what is really going on.

Mr. Yang also gets to the fundamental differences between all approaches, pincers. Finally, now with that kind of knowledge, I can begin to really study josekis in terms in how they fit the board. Finally, I'm able to learn how to choose moves that I need to work with stones.

There are so much little details, and they are explained in concise ways.

Now...I must practice games, so I can increase my versasility. In fact, I played two games on oro recently, and...I developed series of clever attacks that seemed to follow in vein with Yulin Yang's principles, and...each time, results were good. Even in review, there isn't much way to dispute the results.

It's quite clever. I'm seeing many new different things in different ways.

So much to learn, so little time.
